The First Somatic Training for Eating Disorder Professionals

This certification training is open to all clinicians, dieticians, and certified eating disorder coaches. It is designed for you to offer the BFYB Program individually, into your community, or within your treatment program, as it can be integrated alongside any other theoretical framework.

Up to 42 CE units available for those that qualify! Please see below for details.

Dear Professionals:

Are you looking to find a new way to help your clients become unstuck and make peace with their body, relationship with food and develop a more self-compassionate relationship with themselves?

Are you in search of new skills to offer your clients to help them lessen self-harming behavior and increase their agency, empowerment and self-care?

If you answered yes...

Please consider joining me in the BFYB Certification Training, where you will learn how to teach this unique 8-week therapeutic program based on the brain-based knowledge of eating disorders and the world of neuroscience. Come to understand how somatic interventions assist your clients in nervous system regulation, interoceptive awareness, and emotion regulation; and the impact this has on behavioral change, increasing self-compassion, and self-growth.

GET READY TO...

Learn why the evidenced-based skills of interoceptive awareness, embodiment and self-compassion are critical to long-term recovery, and how to properly deliver these skills in a safe and effective way. This somatic-based training will prepare you to deliver this program in a group format or by coaching your client through it individually.

Help your clients learn emotion regulation from the inside-out, where their bodies will become a primary source of information and emotional regulation. They will develop the skills necessary to reduce fear and anxiety; and learn how to work with and prevent getting stuck in self-harming and self-critical cycles.

What You Will Gain

What Others Have to Say About the Program…

“If you are working with client with disordered eating of any kind the BFYB training is a must!

Ann’s somatic approach to treating disordered eating is what we have all been waiting for. Not

only is it personally transformative, it provides a safe, powerful, and effective way to help your

clients heal and find freedom again.”

— Kira Lynne, RPC, MPCC, Certified BFYB Teacher

— Melissa Golub, LCSW-R, Certified BFYB Teacher

— Stephanie Armer, LCSW, Certified BFYB Teacher

“I have been working as a therapist in the eating disorder field for nearly two decades and am trained in

somatic therapy practices as well. It hasn’t been until the BFYB training that I have finally seen the path

to working somatically with folks who have eating disorders. I wish everyone could get this information

sooner than I did as it will change your practice.”

— Sarah Alexander, LCSW, Certified BFYB Teacher

The Certification Process

There are two steps to the full certification process: Self-Growth and Certification

1st Step-Personal Growth
Participate in the 8-Week Virtual BFYB Program

Partake in one of my Virtual BFYB Programs or one with an Advanced Certified Teacher (see certified teacher page for info.) held through Zoom (please note the online course does not qualify, Only the virtual program which must be taken with me). You will join as a participant and work through the program personally, along with others, so you can embody the experience.

Because the work is experiential, it is VERY important that you, as a practitioner, are willing to participate in the program for your self-growth, as well as experience the practices before you can effectively train and give these off to another.

*Please note participation in this level does not qualify you to guide or teach the program or any of its practices. This may only be done once the certification is completed.

Please check here for the next 8-week personal growth offering.
